Lexington Universal Academy is a non-profit organization and the only full-time Islamic school in Lexington, KY. The Lexington Universal Academy (LUA) is an independent and Islamic school founded by the Islamic Society of Central Kentucky in 2003.
LUA received its First Accreditation in April 2008 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Now LUA is monitored yearly by a larger accreditation program called AdvancED.
Alhamdullilah, LUA received its Second Accreditation in May 2013. In addition, it received accreditation from CISNA (Council of Islamic Schools in North America). Therefore, it has a dual accreditation.
Every 5 years, an external team from AdvancED comes and reevaluates the whole institution. They use a set of research-based protocols and standards to review our programs, the cultural context, and the community of stakeholders to determine how well the components work together to meet the needs of students.
LUA offers preschool (3-4 years old) through 8th grade. The population that makes up LUA comes from diverse backgrounds and nationalities. LUA has 16 full time faculty, and a total of 20 staff members that include teachers and administration.
